Today on the Soul School podcast I share our journey from miscarriage due to a partial molar pregnancy to cancer scare to being pregnant! I’ll share all of the scary, sad and joyful details, in addition to the 5 gifts I learned from this year long grief and healing process.
Crisis is crisis, to that person experiencing it. We all deal with trauma differently. We are all in different seasons of our life, and no matter what season you’re in I hope our conversation today will help you or any one you love who is suffering from any type of grief.
I’m nervous to share because it’s so personal and vulnerable, but if it helps you, then it is all worth it! We are not alone. We are in this journey of life together, through our struggles, our stories and our connection.
Along the way I found a poem that spoke to me in my time of sadness and how it helped to slowly pull myself back together. Hopefully it speaks to you too:
The Guest House, by Rumi
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
No matter what you are going through right now, be gentle with yourself as you take time to heal. It is through the practice of surrender that I could lean into my own compassion and self-love.
In my vulnerability, my hope is to help open the pathway to shed light on your own lessons, to allow you to truly feel your feelings and move through them from your highest self with grace, patience, love and faith.
It would be an honor to hear from you and your story. Head over to instagram and share or let me know on my website if this has helped you. Also, thank you so much for sharing this episode and reviewing this podcast. Your support means so much to me!
